How to Discover What is the Will of God: Trusting in His Infinite Providence

 

Life often presents us with moments that feel overwhelming—unfortunate events, losses, and trials that shake our faith and leave us questioning the goodness of God’s plan. Yet, it is precisely in these moments that the will of God is revealed to us, offering infinite treasure and boundless grace. This truth is both challenging and liberating, and learning to trust in God’s providence can transform even the darkest times into opportunities for spiritual growth and profound peace.

Infinite Value in Every Moment

The divine action places before us, in every moment, things of infinite value. If we can learn to see the will of God in all circumstances, even the difficult ones, we will discover a source of grace that exceeds all understanding. God’s will is perfect, eternal, and unchanging. It is like an endless ocean, vast and inexhaustible, ready to fill us with everything we need—if only we approach it with faith, confidence, and love.

When we encounter pain or misfortune, our natural response may be fear, doubt, or resistance. But these moments hold immense spiritual treasures, far greater than our limited human perspectives can comprehend. By embracing the present moment as an expression of God’s will, we open our hearts to receive the fullness of His grace.

Faith, Confidence, and Love: The Keys to God’s Will

To discover God’s will, we must expand our capacity for faith, confidence, and love. Faith allows us to trust in His goodness even when circumstances seem bleak. Confidence assures us that He is in control, working all things for our ultimate good. Love deepens our relationship with Him, enabling us to desire His will above all else.

It’s not easy to surrender our plans and desires, especially when life feels unpredictable. I recall a time when my family was burdened by financial struggles and unexpected trials. I questioned God’s presence and wondered how He could allow such difficulties. Yet, through prayer and reflection, I came to see these moments as opportunities to rely completely on Him. By placing my trust in His providence, I experienced a peace that surpassed understanding and saw His faithfulness in ways I never could have imagined.

An Abyss of Grace

God’s will is a deep abyss, infinitely larger than our greatest desires or fears. When we plunge into this abyss with trust, we find it overflowing with blessings. This does not mean our problems disappear, but it means we gain the strength to face them, the peace to endure them, and the grace to grow through them.

The senses, focused on worldly pleasures and comforts, may rebel against this surrender. They may grieve the loss of control or the absence of tangible rewards. But faith triumphs, pointing us to the eternal reality of God’s love and purpose. When we abandon ourselves to His will, He gives Himself to us fully, sustaining and strengthening us in every trial.

A Call to Trust

If you are struggling to trust in God’s providence today, remember that His will is always for your good. The trials you face, though painful, are opportunities to draw closer to Him and to discover the treasures hidden within the present moment.
